PRESIDENT’S COLUMN
Welcome to the latest edition of The Assessors Journal, which will be my last contribution as President.
From 20 September 2025, I will be moving into the role of Immediate Past President, as Philip Briggs takes the helm
as the new President for the next two years.
On re昀氀ection on my time as President over the last two years, it has been a pleasure to support the Institute, and
we have seen much change and stability come from Council in the form of supporting the ABI over the Code of
Practice for the Categorisation of Motorised Vehicle Salvage and our recommitment to our Af昀椀liation with the British
Engineering Council by strict audit, to name a couple of key projects.
We are still working on new CPD content going forward, the regeneration of the regions,
and also our continued growth into the sector as it looks more to us for guidance
and reference as technical challenges begin to grow due to the complexities
of vehicle construction.
The PR team now have all of the feedback in from our Member surveys, and will
be acting on this, and getting in touch if you made representation to assist
us in any way.
We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible for our AGM on
Saturday 20 September 2025 at Stonebridge Golf Club, Somers Rd, Meriden,
Coventry CV7 7PL at 11:30am, or online via the invitation instructions.
But, for now, enjoy this edition and let’s support the incoming President
to continue to raise our pro昀椀le, profession and, indeed, our Member skills.
