Nestled in Dartford, Kent, Caterham Cars continues to embody the spirit of Colin
Chapman’s original vision: “Simplify, then add lightness”. A recent tour of their facility
offered a rare glimpse into the meticulous craftsmanship, engineering philosophy, and
enduring passion that de昀椀ne this iconic British marque, writes IAEA London Region
Honorary Secretary Peter Beddow.

the day. The Caterham technicians
were exceptionally obliging, eager to
discuss the intricacies of the build and
technical processes, and their genuine
enthusiasm for their craft shone
through, leaving a lasting impression
on all attendees. Special thanks also
