FUTURE ENGINEERS
Ten Coventry schools came together for the celebration event at Eyebox.

Eyebox provided a superb setting
for the children to test their models.

a morning that can

as ‘organised chaos
and fun’ as around 80 pupils from
10 Coventry schools attended a
celebration event where they tested
and talked about the model vehicles
they had built as part of a programme
to inspire interest in automotive
engineering from an early age.

Awards were presented to winning

The practical project tasked the
participants with building a model
vehicle – pupils aged 昀椀ve to seven
constructing theirs from a shoebox
whilst those aged between eight
and 11-years-old were required to
make a chassis out of wood and
power their creation with an electric

school were then brought to Eyebox
where they were judged on straight

As well as its Vehicle initiative,
Primary Engineer also runs
programmes in Rail, Construction
and Early Years Engineering. In the
2023-2024 academic year, it worked
with 117,047 pupils, 6,630 teachers,
and 1,608 engineers, which resulted in
a total of over 842,846 pupil hours of
engineering being delivered.
