DAVIES GROUP – Forensic Collision Investigator
Department: Claims Management
Employment Type: Permanent - Full Time
Location: Home United Kingdom (fully remote)
Salary: £40,000 and £50,000 per anum, plus bonus and car allowance
Davies is looking for a Forensic Collision Investigator (south of England), working as part of a small team the role involves
inspecting vehicles, investigating and verifying, and producing technical reports as an expert witness.
What will your day look like:
• Incorporated or Chartered Engineer Status, MITAI
• Travel to and from site to conduct vehicle examinations
and photography (training provided, driving licence
required)
• Speci昀椀c Collision Investigation Quali昀椀cations (UCPD,
Cert HE etc)
• Downloading and analysing vehicle data (training
provided)
Bene昀椀cial Experience
• Collision investigation
• Consider 昀椀ndings alongside other information sources to
investigate collisions and determine the compatibility of
vehicle damage against scene and witness evidence
• Vehicle examinations
• Prepare impartial, technically accurate reports for use in
pre- and post-litigation
• Court attendance
• Be an expert witness for the court and attend meetings
with lawyers and equivalent subject experts (training
provided)
• Vehicle downloads (e.g. Bosch CDR)
Personal attributes:
• The ability to work unsupervised and be self-motivated
• To manage own workload
Davies receive instructions from solicitors, insurance
companies, manufacturers and the general public. The role
is home-based but customer-facing with occasional meetings
and discussions with clients, barristers, and other subject
matter experts.
Knowledge and Abilities:
• The ability to meet deadlines
• A willingness to continue learning and carry our regular
CPD
• An aptitude and enthusiasm for problem solving
• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in an engineering or
scienti昀椀c subject or demonstration of equivalent practical
experience: for example: experienced engineer, police
vehicle examiner/ accident investigator
The role could suit a graduate looking to forge a career
in collision investigation, an established engineer looking
for a change of direction, or an experienced police vehicle
examiner/ accident investigator seeking a new opportunity in
the civil sector.
