Davies is recruiting a Field Motor Engineer and a Desk Based
Motor Engineer, via https://davies.pinpointhq.com/.
Field Motor Engineer: You will be quali昀椀ed to a minimum
of I.A.E.A or ATA (VDA) standard with current or experience
leading an engineering function for an insurer or independent
昀椀rm. You will be able to value and negotiate repair costs;
provide vehicle valuations; negotiate total loss settlements and
have a detailed understanding of salvage categories and claims
management. Experience of vehicle estimating systems such as
Audatex and Glassmatix is essential for this opportunity. AQP
quali昀椀cation is preferred.
Davies Group also has an opportunity for a Desk Engineer
to join its Automotive Engineering team within Davies Motor
Engineering. You will be quali昀椀ed to a minimum of I.A.E.A or
ATA (VDA) standard with current or recent experience working
as an automotive engineer or body shop estimator. You will be
able to assess value and negotiate repair costs; provide vehicle
valuations; negotiate total loss settlements and have a detailed
understanding of salvage categories and claims management.
Experience of vehicle estimating systems such as Audatex and
Glassmatix is essential for this opportunity. AQP quali昀椀cation is
preferred.

shape the future of automotive insurance risk. There is more

Hastings is recruiting an Engineering Claims Auditor.
“As the Head of Research, you’ll spearhead our efforts to
understand emerging vehicle technologies and their impact on
insurance risk.
“You’ll drive our research agenda, mentor a team of subject
matter experts, and maintain our position as a thought leader
in the industry.”
Thatcham Research is looking for signi昀椀cant leadership
experience with curiosity and problem-solving skills, a proven
ability to develop and implement strategic initiatives that drive
business outcomes, and strong relationship management
experience and the ability to balance and anticipate the needs
of multiple stakeholders. Knowledge and understanding of the
UK and global automotive and motor insurance markets, along
with an understanding of safety, security, and sustainable repair
across the insurability spectrum, would be desirable.
The role attracts:

or Bexhill of昀椀ces. The role is majority homeworking but
Hastings expects the person to attend one of the of昀椀ces on
a quarterly basis. The job involves developing a complete
understanding of all internal and supplier engineering
processes, new commercial initiatives, best practice and
the impact of inef昀椀cient processes, reviews or outcomes on
customer journey, leakage etc, and retaining an up-to-date
technical knowledge with new motor repair regulations
and policies, and designing and developing relevant,
effective audit approaches and capture mechanisms which
are 昀氀exible to accommodate changing business needs and
allow to capture, monitor and measure performance.
The role also requires the managing of relationships
with senior personnel and effectively communicating
across Engineer Teams, commercial teams, operational
leaderships to ensure scoping, attendance and feedback
is all delivered effectively, and providing recommendations
on areas for development and improvement, this could be
savings, better contract adherence, KPI/SLA adherence
and impact on customer journey and outcomes.
Desired skills include strong technical knowledge and
proven experience within the motor industry with either
vehicle bodywork or mechanical knowledge (Audatex and
Glassmatix estimating systems knowledge bene昀椀cial).
