ON THE ROAD WITH THE IAEA!
The IAEA has been on the road since
the last issue of The Assessors Journal,
with the events season in full swing.
This includes the Bodyshop Magazine
practical assessment day for the
Bodyshop Thatcham VDA of the Year
title, an Award powered by the IAEA.
IAEA Assessors, Les Minton, Jason
Russell, Matthew Taylor and Gary Hunt
judged the closely fought
competition, with Mel Johnston from
Solus ARC Warrington winning the
Award – congratulations, Mel! Head to
page 12 to read an interview with Mel.
David Punter, IAEA President, attended
the Vehicle Recyclers Association (VRA)
Conference to speak to VRA Members
– the trade body for vehicle recycling
professionals – about the IAEA, salvage
categorisation and green parts.
spoke to delegates about the newly
released AQP exam and its take up,
membership applications, training
opportunities and future expansion
of the Institute, as well and received
positive feedback on The Assessors
Journal since the relaunch.
In November, David attended the
ABP Club Annual Convention and
Night of Knights in Manchester and
The IAEA’s Darren Power and Phil
Briggs, joined David for the evening
awards which celebrate the top rated
motor insurers, accident management
companies, estimating and parts
suppliers, with a number of bodyshops
winning awards, too (see separate
news story for the full list of winners).
Finally, on the day this issue goes to press, the IAEA will be attending the ATF
Professional Vehicle Recycling Awards at the RAF Museum in Cotsford, where the
IAEA are 昀椀nalists for the Service Provider Award – 昀椀ngers crossed!

MURRAY
Congratulations to Adam Murray who
is starting a new position as Head
of Policy, Standards & Acceditation
at Solus, Aviva’s owned network of
accident repair centres. Adam is a
former IAEA President (2015).
Adam’s Solus experience includes
designing, developing and
implementing technical standards
to ensure the delivery of corporate
goals, leading on industry steering
groups and training and development
of its technical engineering resource
delivering projects such as full ATA
Accreditation across the Solus Motor
Engineer team.

JOINS EXCLUSIVE VEHICLE
ASSESSORS TEAM
Exclusive Vehicle Assessors
has appointed John
Dodding to the Exclusive
Vehicle Assessors Team.
John joins with a wealth of
experience in the Motor
Claims and Engineering
industry. “John has already
settled in well with the
team and we are looking
forward to the future with
John as part of the team!”
said his colleagues.
