or the company’s dedicated
360-degree 昀椀xed camera system,
installed on pillars or walls.
The 昀椀xed scanner is faster, typically
taking around two minutes, and
delivers greater accuracy due
to consistently clear, repeatable
imaging. Smartphone inspections, by
comparison, may miss micro-damage,
particularly in poor lighting or where
operator angles are inconsistent.
However, the smartphone work昀氀ow
guides the user through each step and
retakes are prompted if image quality
is insuf昀椀cient.
Both systems capture key vehicle
information including marque,
odometer reading, VIN and registration
number, and can identify damage
across bodywork, mechanical and
electrical systems – including Advanced
Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).
Inspektlabs also has a check-in/
check-out inspection feature
designed to support accident and
repair management. By ensuring all
damage is recorded on entry, the
system reduces the risk of disputes
or unexpected charges later in the
process. It also helps keep the repairer,
insurer and customer informed
throughout the repair journey,
increasing transparency and supporting
veri昀椀cation of completed work at
check-out.
Once the scan is completed, it is
uploaded to a centralised platform
where the images and video are
analysed. Parts costings, including
OEM parts and recycled components
from VRA-certi昀椀ed dismantlers, are
provided via GT Motive, alongside
repair operations.

uploaded to a secure portal. VDAs can
log in via desktop or the Inspektlabs
app to review, download and share
the information with authorised users
within the bodyshop.
In addition, the AI tool can indicate
where a part may be suitable for
repair rather than replacement – an
increasingly important factor as
repairers look to protect margin and
manage parts availability.
Depending on the complexity of the
damage, the full process, from scan
to completed estimate, takes around
昀椀ve minutes. The system can also
help determine whether a vehicle is
repairable or should be classi昀椀ed as a
total loss.
“Where VDAs have traditionally spent
hours collecting the information
needed to build an estimate, we want
to be able to do that in a few minutes,”
said Devesh. “And the more vehicles
our system inspects, the quicker it
becomes. The interface prompts
users throughout, making accurate
assessments faster and easier and
improving ef昀椀ciency and productivity in
the bodyshop.”
Inspektlabs provides custom pricing
plans for hardware and installation
based on speci昀椀c requirements. “A lot
of people start by trying the system on
a smartphone, then upgrade to a 昀椀xed
installation once they see the savings
and operational bene昀椀ts,” said Neeraj.
There is also a per-estimate charge,
which reduces as usage increases.
For bodyshops, the bene昀椀ts go
beyond speed alone. Inspektlabs’
AI-supported estimating solution
reduces the risk of missed damage,
improves consistency between
estimators, and supports better
decision-making at the earliest
stage of the repair journey. Faster,
more accurate estimates can reduce
supplement frequency, minimise
disruption to technician 昀氀ow and
enable earlier parts ordering – which
in turn reduces idle time and prevents
vehicles sitting unnecessarily on
site. For a busy repair centre, that
can translate directly into improved
throughput and higher revenue
capacity without increasing headcount.
Inspektlabs is currently offering
bodyshops a free trial.
