Thatcham Research has appointed Rich Tomlinson as
Insurance Sector Director.
Rich will lead the organisation’s Insurance Vertical, reporting
directly to Chief Executive Jonathan Hewett. The role has
been created alongside Thatcham Research’s Automotive
and Repair Verticals, led by Ben Townsend and Dean Lander
respectively.
Rich was previously consulting in the insurance data and
tech space. Prior roles include as Managing Director at
Percayso Inform, and Business Unit Director at Experian.
In this newly created position, Rich will play a central role
in coordinating and enhancing the value delivered to
Thatcham Research’s insurance members. Drawing on the
organisation’s research, data, product, in昀氀uencing and
training capabilities, he will help ensure members continue
to bene昀椀t from increasingly integrated automotive risk

The appointment comes at a time of signi昀椀cant change
across the insurance landscape. Market consolidation is
creating larger, more complex organisations, while insurers
continue to balance growth with operational ef昀椀ciency. In
this environment, the need for rigorous automotive risk
intelligence has never been greater.
