and was elected member of the IAEA
in 2017. I was awarded the Audatex
award by the Institute in 2017 for the
highest practical exam mark that year.

I completed the 昀椀nal practical exam
I decided to join the Council as, with
my wide-ranging experience of the
motor industry regularly speaking with
VDAs, repairer managers, insurers,
engineers both at IMS and from
other insurers/work providers, I felt I
was keen to give back and help the
Institute move forward with its future
plans.
I think one of the biggest changes
to affect the motor industry is the
advancement of technology. In the
last 10 years there have been major
leaps in the advancement of ADAS
(Advanced Driver Assistance Systems)
technology. The correct understanding
of the functions of these systems and
how they are impacted when crash

In my day job I am Head of
Engineering at Incident Management
Solutions, responsible for a team of 34
engineers and a support team of six.
I have been with the company for 17
years, starting out as a trainee engineer
having transferred from a VDA role
within a dealer-based bodyshop.
I have steadily worked my way up to
the Head of Engineering role which I
was appointed to in 2023.
